HDR and Atmos pass-through is unverified

Dolby Vision, HDR10+, TrueHD Atmos, and DTS-HD MA often require specific device chains and receiver configurations that are never confirmed at handover.

Media servers transcode instead of direct-play

Plex and Jellyfin setups frequently transcode high-quality remuxes — losing lossless audio — when the endpoint and network could support direct play with correct configuration.

Film availability lacks a verified route

Regional OTT windows, disc availability, and reference-format sourcing are often unclear. A verified path matters before committing to a format recommendation.
